At 3 Way we take our responsibility to the environment seriously and we are making every effort to ensure that we minimise our environmental footprint.

Cleaning Products

Cleaning products historically did not have the best reputation for being environmentally friendly but huge steps have been made in recent years. We are continuing to strive to use environmentally friendly products whenever possible and we will be gradually moving towards using Bio Hygiene products in the future which we believe is the right way to go for our business and for yours.

Our Vehicles

We have electric/hybrid vehicles on our fleet, and we have reduced our fuel consumption dramatically over the last few years by minimising unnecessary mileage wherever possible. The work from home protocols we have had to adopt during the Covid Pandemic have helped reduce our fuel consumption further and the head office team is now working successfully remotely, and we will continue to have a flexible working protocol even though there are times when we would dearly love to be back together in the office planning face to face and enjoying each other’s company. Social events are something to be looked forward to!

Green Measures

In the Office

We aim for our office to be as environmentally friendly as possible too. We have solar panels fitted which keeps our energy consumption down and we have massively reduced our paper consumption in recent years. This has largely been down to our adoption of the Teams and SharePoint Platforms that we all work with now. We have changed our processes so that we can operate both paperless and remotely which has been revolutionary for the business. Flexible working was always something we wanted to be able to offer and Covid forced our hand and we have proved that we can make it work successfully. Our regular Teams meetings mean that we stay in touch and get to see each other’s faces and discuss any problems in a collaborative way. In fact, taking the daily commute to the office out of the equation we have found we can be even more productive (and look after our pets into the bargain!).

Green Measures

With our clients

We have now also been working closely with one of our clients to help them reduce their single-use plastics. Our teams worked together at the beginning of 2019 to explore and implement various different solutions.

Over a 12-month period, there was a 68% reduction in single-use plastics for hand soaps alone, which is great progress! We did so mostly by buying larger volumes of products which could be decanted into glass hand soap bottles in the washrooms.

Little by little, we can all make a big impact on the world around us. So, as we work towards becoming a Carbon Neutral company, we will continue to strive to do exactly that.

Charitable Work

In addition to all the work highlighted above we are now giving regular donations to The Ocean Cleanup which is a international non profit organisation with a mission to end ocean pollution. This is something we feel very strongly about and so wanted to support their work directly as a business. Check out their good works at The Ocean Cleanup. They have even commissioned designer sunglasses to be made from re-cycled ocean plastic. Watch this space the whole team will be in these sunglasses soon! www.stirworld.com/see-news-the-ocean-cleanup-and-yves-behar-make-sunglasses-with-ocean-plastic-pollution
